1. THIS THREAD HAS BEEN SPLIT TO KEEP TOPICS EASIER TO FOLLOW. EXTRANEOUS INFORMATION HAS BEEN REMOVED.

    We are still holding out small hope that we'll be given our own official forum on TDF shortly;
the management was contacted a couple of weeks ago by Scott, the company
owner, along with the required contact information.

Probably to be expected there was some aggression towards our post on this topic on TDF. Midiman posting as both Bianca and TDF_Management
has already put up some new "reasons" why Sinthetics will not get a
public forum. We are posting the screen captures here for those who would like to see what was said and our responses, and also for those who do not log in at TDF when they visit that site (currently anything Sinthetics-related is only viewable by people logged in.)  I wrote a long reply to point out some issues in his
reasoning but I am certain it will be edited. For that reason I have
made screen captures should anyone wish to see what was actually said by
either party before the magic edit wand changes history again.

  2. This was the original post made by Scott, the owner:
---- start quote of post ---

This has been the busiest time of year for me so I have been unable to deal with any administrative duties associated with Sinthetics. I have hired Bronwen and Chris to
deal with these things precisely because of my busy schedule . However, it has come to my attention that Sinthetics has been barred from having a public forum because I
have not made contact. Please consider my speaking through this post as the contact that has been made as demanded. Because I lost the login for my original account, I have started a new account but I am told I cannot send private messages so I opted for a public statement instead. I will use this opportunity to make a few comments.

First, it came to my attention that there has been some confusion about Chris. Chris is the forum representative I have hired to handle official comments from Sinthetics.
With this now made clear, please reinstate her user ID as Sinthetics. That will be the account from which official Sinthetics announcements and comments are posted. Bronwen is the customer service rep for Will Power so she handles the emails and telephone correspondence. I will not be active on the forums at all and will not be fielding any questions. I run several businesses so direct contact with me should only be attempted in dire emergencies through Bronwen or Chris. I am choosing to keep my privacy in this business because of involvements in other industries and would appreciate that my privacy, like yours (forum members and Sinthetics clients), is respected.

The second thing I was informed about is that we were having a forum withheld here on TDF because I have not personally given a physical address. The physical address to the business is on our website where it has been for several weeks.http://sinthetics.com/contact/ I believe by now that it is common knowledge that the company name is Will Power Holdings, Inc. with the Sinthetics name being the product line. All correspondence needs to go to the address on our site. There are also contact telephone numbers and email addresses listed. This should be more than sufficient to get our own forum especially with proven deliveries and reviews available.

I would finally like to state a couple of company policies that I am firmly enforcing:
    1) No previews/sneak peeks on products that are in development. When items are complete and available for purchase they will be added to the website.
    2) No correspondence through any private message systems on any forums - it is too difficult for Bronwen and Chris to keep everything in order if emails are coming in from 4 or 5 different sources. Please send any private messages directly to Bronwen@sinthetics.com or Sales@sinthetics.com Thanks.

I hope this answers any long-standing questions.
    Scott

  3. A few points of order. When I post my own opinions I use my Midiman account at TDF. Bianca is for official posts as a moderator and staff and the TDF_Management account posts  made in regards to Sinthetics were done so jointly by Kharn and Myself - the sole owners of TDF.. We handle the dealings with ALL manufacturers at our forum and share all forum related communications with each other. There are no secrets.

We can appreciate company policies as in order to manage such a large forum as TDF we also had to implement policies, one of which is to  conduct all moderation and member correspondence via TDF's internal PM system.  It keeps the records in house.  TDF_Management account was created for all upper level management and owners.

When you deal with car rental agencies, you deal on their terms.  AT TDF we are providing a useful service to our manufacturers FREE of charge.  All we ask in return is for THEM to comply with our qualifying process and follow TDF member protocol to enjoy the benefits of our free website.

If your company policy does not permit you to comply, it is most unfortunate, BUT, it is not the fault of TDF.  Although members are perfectly within their rights to ignore PMs from fellow members, the ignoring of PMs from TDF staff WILL result in account limitations or cancellation of those accounts.  This has also been a long standing policy of TDF even before we acquired it in August of 2009.

    <label for="post_content">
    </label>

When your representatives are visiting TDF it is in  fact much more organized and easier for them to respond to the PM system as in most cases they are linking directly to posts or threads at TDF.

Whereas, we have 35 staff, we would lose our audit trail of communications, and most staff have no interest nor desire to be using their personal emails to conduct TDF forum business.

Although the current TDF policy re manufacturer accounts was not posted at TDF until December 2010, it has been in effect for over a year.  TDF owners are united on this policy and no matter which owner you speak with, you WILL get the same reply.

    Respectfully,Midiman and Kharn

Right.  I've been bringing this repeatedly up over on ODC,  "ranting" about Scott's policy as one member called it, since I see his privacy policy as problematic in this, not TDF's policy.

Both of you have your own policies  in place, excercising your rights to do so, for whatever reasons they may be, and do not want to compromise on them any.  If Sinthetics wants a doll manufacturer account and a forum open to all viewrers on TDF, they have to comply with whatever the screening process is at the time of trying to acheive that.  If Scott's policy is in conflict with the criteria, then that is that.

    See you around Midiman,

    N.

  5. Why can't you post as one person ? You sound like such a douchebag.

  6. My goodness Sinthetics, what big scissors you have!

Did my post get cut, or is that just my imagination, running away with me?

@ naturalman:  This sounds like the voice of reason, certainly not the voice of a douchebag to me:

" AT TDF we are providing a useful service to our manufacturers FREE of charge. All we ask in return is for THEM to comply with our qualifying process and follow TDF member protocol to enjoy the benefits of our free website.

  7. Midiman, we thought it would be obvious that the statement about PMs through various forums is intended for clients requesting product information.

  8. Thank you , Sinthetics for posting an explanation as to why my post was removed.  Not sure why you never left an explanation before I mentioned it, though...  But I was NOT "asked more than once" by one of your employees to drop it.  I was not even asked ONCE. Perhaps you mean noquiexis, he has told me to stop "ranting" about Scott's policy.  Maybe it was two honest mistakes in a row here and not just you being a hypocrite and distorting facts to rationalize why you didn't post a reason why I was cut.  But, no matter, I will let it go.

  9. Perhaps the request was too subtle in this response: http://ourdollcommunity.com/forum/index.php?topic=2377.msg28835#msg28835And here again you are asked to stop your rants about Sinthetics: http://ourdollcommunity.com/forum/index.php?topic=2381.msg29027#msg29027There was another instance where a request to drop it was going to be made but Noquiexis stepped in ahead and made it a moot point.

Removing your prior post was not a mistake, it was intentional and it was not an oversight that a reason was not posted.

This forum is not intended to be a full-fledged forum like those at ODC, TDF, the French or UK forums. It is not heavily moderated or even attended. The rules are very few and very simple. One of them is that people should not be disruptive. Please respect the rules here so that it does not become necessary for moderation. We have much more pressing things to spend time on.

  10. There was NO request in either.  Thank you for linking to the proof of that.

And also giving me this statment:

"Removing your prior post was not a mistake, it was intentional and it was not an oversight that a reason was not posted."

So it definately wasn't two honest mistakes, as I had suspected, just needed your confirmation of it, thank you.

    That's that then.

  11. There was NO request in either, by an employee of yours, just to clarify, since I cannot edit my last post as time has elapsed.

  12. Bronwen, I did not find it obvious, Kharn did not find it obvious nor the 30 odd staff that read it. Perhaps this is because the post was directed at TDF management and not a general post made for members. Also Kharn and I did read N.'s post before it was removed. It seemed right on topic and not out of line.  Please note that the post midiman made was prepared jointly by both Kharn and myself. If this is too difficult for some of your forum members to fathom, feel free to rename the account to 'dollforum' ;)

    respectfully,

    Midiman and Kharn

  13. "For that reason I have made screen captures should anyone wish to see what was actually said by either party before the magic edit wand changes history again. "

TDF did not feel it relevant that manufacturers were taking a management level discussions to the public forum as manufacturer accounts at TDF are not done by popularity, proclamation or member vote, but by the owners.  Also the members made it clear they did not want feuding and disruptive threads at TDF some time ago after Alex ended such a confilct.

Both the owners and the staff of TDF want to move forward and not burden the general membership with dirty laundry.

All manufacturers fall under the same requirements. These requirements are subject to change as needs change and that is exactly why we changed them last summer.

If the Sinthetics owner wishes to delegate his account duties and responsibility to someone else in his business, he may do so AFTER he has qualified the manufacturer account.  We had thought that perhaps the reason the owner was holding back was because they were worried our association with Abyss might have us forwarding the information to them, however, one of our admins close to Sinthetics has informed us that Abyss already has that information. That in itself would indicate there is no exchange of information going on between Abyss and TDF as we did not know.  Therefore we are at a loss as to what possible reason there could be for the owner's unwillingness to comply to a very reasonable requirement.

Nonetheless, a manufacturer account awaits Sinthetics on compliance and the forum's activity level will win it a place in the most active forums section with or without a manufacturer account.  The only difference is that we start forums with manufacturer accounts in the active forums section  Placement of forums is based on activity and member feedback, and if ther is little activity or strong negative feedback the forums are moved into the members only section until they again prove themselves.

We hope this clears up any confusion and again invite you to validate a Sinthetics manufacturer account.

    Dave and Kharn

  14. For the 3 people watching this thread - it has been split from the original to keep things orderly and only the on-topic information is maintained. Because we're not interested in another "pissing contest" the thread has also been locked. We are specifically seeking to keep this forum low-key and casual where massive moderation should not be necessary. Unlike the big forums which have staff and huge servers and time allocations, this forum does not.
