1. Soooo, tell us about this American Psychology Association Conference. When is it? What aspect of dolls will be explored?
Will you get commemorative tee shirts? Come on, don't hold out on us. Spill!

  2. We were asked a few months ago to be part of a panel at the APA. The lecture is being presented by the same girl who did the survey many of you participated in. The brief summary is:
She saw "Lars and the Real Girl" and thought that it would be an interesting starting point for study. Initially the idea was that people who had dolls could use therapy to move on from the doll for a more "normal" life. After she and her professor got more involved and learned more about doll owners, however, it became clear that perhaps therapy should INCLUDE the dolls rather than work to exclude them. They were surprised to discover that dolls can bring many benefits to a person's life. For the APA, she and her professor invited Davecat and us to speak from our perspectives on why dolls can be beneficial. We will be presenting some factual anecdotes about friends and clients (no names or specifics of course) whose lives have been greatly enriched by the dolls and how doll ownership should not be looked at as a fetish or fringe interest. We will have at least one Sinthetic with us for people to see. Our lecture is at 1:30pm on the 26th of April in San Francisco.
We are looking forward to continuing our mission to bring dolls out of the closet.

  3. It would be of interest to all the doll folks here what this  upcoming lecture and presentation brings.
